Biographical Statement


Jim Schubmehl, M.D. is Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester and Director, The Rochester Institute for Davanloo’s Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy. He has had intensive training and supervision by Habib Davanloo, MD in Davanloo’s Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (DIS-TDP) since the early 1980's. He is in full time private practice and teaches and supervises psychiatric residents at the University of Rochester. He has been providing training and supervision in DIS-TDP since 1989.


He has presented over 100 courses on DIS-TDP and for the last five years has been course director of the CME course on DIS-TDP at the American Psychiatric Association's annual meeting. He is past co-editor of the International Journal of Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy.
